Ralph Steadman

.. Hunter .S. Thompson's Illustrator..

I have recently finished 'The rum diary's' a brilliant book by Hunter .S. Thompson. An American novelist and massive character who had his ashes blasted out of a canon on the top of a tower, the most rock and roll novelist I've ever heard of. If you need proof I'd advice you to read 'Fear and Loathing'
I will most likely be dedicating a post to him very soon but for now

R.I.P

Ralph Steadman had a long partnership with Thompson drawing illustrations for his novels, articles and so on..

My bestest buddy brought me this book for my birthday, one of the best presents I have ever received.. Alice And Wonderland Illustrated by Ralph Steadman the art work in it is so good and it matches the book perfectly with its querky, weird, mad, amazingness.

Phil Lumbang and Ernesto Yerena

..Dead Relatives..

I love Mexican Folk Art, the love for it all started from a young age. The art work Phil Lumbang and Ernesto Yerena is influenced by Mexicans views on death!

"Animals are our relatives. Dead Relatives is a special look at death, as a satire. Usually a taboo subject in many cultures, Mexican traditions revere death. Death is celebrated, it is humorous. The Day of the Dead (Dia De Los Muertos) patterns embodied by the endearing silhouettes of chosen animals set a cunning tone to the show. The styles of Ernesto Yerena and Philip Lumbang contrast and compliment. Whether the animal is mythological or culturally relevant, each animal carries a message that the artists would like for the audience to ponder. The dynamics of the artists collaboration result in striking imagery with two different styles working in perfect balance"

You can find the rest of the pieces on this site.

The amazing Stephen Fry

..What I wish I'd have known at 18..

Mr. Fry one of my all round idols, what a man.. This interview I can honestly say has changed the way I look at life, some wise words shooting off the tip of his tongue, instantly hooked and by the end of it gobsmackingly impressed if there was ever such a word.
Ignore the picture on the front of the video I don't actually know what it has to do with anything.
